Oakland Panthers COVID-19 Update

by David Edelman

Oakland, CA - With both the utmost caution and responsibility, the Oakland Panthers remain excited to continue with our rally on Thursday, March 12, and host the Iowa Barnstormers for our historic inaugural game on Saturday, March 14 as scheduled.

We acknowledge that the anxiety many of us feel around COVID-19 may temper the excitement that a new sports team brings to a community.  As of now, the risk for most healthy adults and children is low. The CDC continues to state that healthy individuals without symptoms of illness should continue their daily activities, while still practicing recommended preventive actions. The Oakland Panthers organization is closely monitoring the latest developments regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) globally and locally to determine its potential impact on our game-day operations. The health and safety of our fans, employees, and players remain our top priority.

Through public health organizations such as the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), we are staying up to date on the latest updates and developments as they occur. We will continue to follow the prevention and recommendations laid out by these organizations, in conjunction with our local public health officials. Our Front Office is also working very closely with ASM management at Oakland Arena to ensure that we implement the most effective operational practices throughout the Arena.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you at the rally and at our season opener!
